After wandering through dark labyrinths under the hills of Buda we found this red wine fountain. Amazing. After wandering through the dark labyrinths under the hills of Buda we found this red wine fountain that spewed out ghastly wine. View of Pest. We stayed somewhere in the distance there. We stayed somewhere in the distance beyond the bridge. Turkish baths! Turkish baths!

A group of 12 friends and I went to Budapest two weekends ago from September 28-October 1. I had been to Budapest about ten years back when I was 10-years-old but I’m glad I returned. Even though it is farther east than Prague, Budapest reminded me much more of a Western European city like Paris. With its wide thoroughfares it seemed much more metropolitan than little Prague. As we left on Sunday after a perfect day of coffee on the banks of the Danube, bicycling on Margit Island and lounging in the Turkish Baths in the city park we saw these fireworks. A beautiful end to a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
